What are Card Controls?

Card Controls give you the ability to turn your card(s) on and off, block certain types of merchants and transactions, and even set a spending limit. It's up to you! And, you are also able to set text and email alerts, so you can stay in the know when it comes to your money.

How do I set up Card Controls?

Simply, sign into your Online Banking or Mobile Banking account. Click "Card Controls" and accept the Terms and Conditions. If you do not have an Online or Mobile Banking account set up, you'll need to do that before enabling Card Controls. Click here to get started.

How do I set my Debit/Credit Card Controls notifications?

The Alerts and Control Preference screen allows you to set your preferences for alert delivery – turn the alerts on or off and see the phone number and e-mail address alert notifications are delivered to. Keep in mind, the phone number and e-mail address are pulled directly from your alert setting in Online and Mobile Banking.

How can I tell if my card is on or off in Card Controls?

On the main Card Alerts and Controls screen, each card you have will be listed alongside a toggling status which shows whether the card is currently on or off.

If a card is blocked in Card Controls, is every transaction blocked?

All one-time transactions are blocked when you set a card to OFF. However, any recurring payments will continue to process normally.

Some of the alert options are off and grayed out in Card Controls. How can I turn them on?

Options may be unavailable based on your settings in Online and Mobile Banking. You must opt in for Text Banking and have push notifications enabled to use all the card control alert options. Can I block only certain types of merchants in Card Controls?

Yes! Using the Merchant Type tab within the Alert and Control Preferences window, you can set blocks for specific spending categories such as "Restaurants" and "Travel”.

Can I block only certain types of transactions on Card Controls?

Yes. Using the Transaction Type tab within the Alerts and Control Preferences window, you can set blocks for specific types of transactions such as ATM, online, mail/phone order, and other types of transactions.

Can I set spending limits in Card Controls?

Yes! In the Alert and Control Preferences window, in the Spend Limits tab, you can toggle the block on and off and set your own customized limit. All transactions outside of the set threshold will be blocked.
