High School Senior Scholarship

Opportunities for High School Seniors

Application Period: January 2 – May 1

Jovia's High School Senior Scholarship is a $3,000 scholarship awarded to high school seniors. Eligible high school seniors must meet the requirements outlined below and complete the online application to be considered for the award.

The submission period for applications ends May 1st.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed essay on assigned topic (included on the application below). Essays must be 500 words or less on the assigned essay topic. Your name should not be included in the essay.
  • Current unofficial school transcript. This must include grades/GPA, school name, and student’s name.
  • Documented proof of fifty (50) hours of community service. This must be documented and signed.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student applicant must be a Jovia Financial Credit Union member to be an eligible applicant.
    Not a member yet? You can open your account with a simple $5 deposit in a branch or over the phone at 1-855-JOVIA4U. And, if your parent or guardian is a Jovia member, you can open your account online within your parent or guardian’s online or mobile banking application.
  • Student must have a four year overall high school GPA of 90 or above.
  • Student must complete fifty (50) hours of community service.
  • Student must participate in three (3) extracurricular activities and/or sports.

Additional Notes:

Only one scholarship type awarded per student. All High School Senior Scholarship applicants regardless of win/loss outcome are eligible to apply for the Premier Scholarship. Winners will be announced 6–8 weeks following the application deadline. Scholarship money will be awarded in the form of a direct deposit into your account.

Essay & Supporting Documentation

To apply for this scholarship you must prepare an essay and upload it along wtih your supporting documentation. Your name should not be included on your essay since winners are chosen anonymously.

Please write your essay on the following topic:
In 500 words or less, describe a project or initiative you have taken on that demonstrates your leadership skills, and ability to effect positive change in your future career.

By submitting an application, you further release Jovia from any responsibility or liability for damages, losses, or injury resulting from acceptance, or use of grant, in the event you are selected as a winner. In addition, you also grant Jovia permission to use and advertise your name and picture as a winner without additional compensation. All application materials must be submitted electronically. Only one scholarship award per student. Upon selection, winners will be requested to submit an official transcript to receive their award. Please note: Jovia employees, family members, and its affiliates are not permitted to apply for Jovia scholarships.
