Save more, earn more, lead life
Why us? Because with Jovia on your side you can save more, earn more and lead the life you want with convenience and optimism. That’s why we call it banking on the bright side.
We are a credit union, which means we’re like a bank, only better. We have all the services of any big bank, but our rates are better and our fees are lower. Simply put, we make your hard-earned money work harder for you so you can do more at home, at work, or on vacation. But we also provide the kind of personal service big banks can’t offer because we know that finances aren’t just about money, but people’s daily needs and long-term aspirations.
Great member service is just what we do
It is who we are. Unlike big banks that fight for customers to muscle out competitors to maximize investor profits, we go out of our way to get to know you and your needs and help you turn your dreams into reality with products that fit your lifestyle.
We're committed to easier, faster banking
You work hard. Your time is limited. That’s why Jovia is committed to easier, faster banking, so you can get on with life without complication or delay. From applying for a mortgage in 15 minutes, or opening a free checking account in an even shorter amount of time, we make it easy to access the capital you need to lead the life you want.
We give every penny we earn back to you
Our focus is to make your hard-earned money work harder for you. As a credit union, every penny Jovia earns is given right back to you, not private investors, in the form of lower interest rates on loans and higher earnings rates on deposits. That’s why you’ll enjoy many big bank perks, minus the fees, like a top-rated mobile app, free checking that earns you up to 3%, and access to over 55,000 fee-free ATMs worldwide.
We're always there when you need us
We live and work where you live and work. We have 19 branches on Long Island and provide members with 55,000 fee-free ATMs worldwide. When you call us, we answer from Long Island.
We are focused on the future
Jovia is building on a legacy of service and value to bring a different kind of banking experience to Long Island. We make big investments in technologies and innovation that make banking easier.
When you join Jovia, you're more than a dollar amount
When you join Jovia, you’re more than a customer with a dollar amount. You are a shareholder, which gets you access to great credit union member benefits like lower rates on loans, and higher earnings on deposits. Don’t just take our word for it. Listen to the voices of real members of our credit union as they tell their stories about the benefits of banking with us.
How Jovia helped Greg take his business to new heights.
Small businesses and their owners know that it requires more than passion and ideas to be successful. It requires having the right partners along with you for the journey.
How Jovia became like family to Mary.
In March 1973, Mary became a widow. Two years later, she found a job as a second grade teacher on Long Island. That's where her story with us begins.
Jovia is a new name, but we've been around for more than 80 years
One day, eight decades ago, a group of school employees met in Valley Stream on Long Island to start a new venture. They agreed to pool their savings to make it easier and less expensive for members to save and borrow money from each other, rather than a bank. Those workers took charge of their future that day. That entrepreneurial spark became Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union or NEFCU for short.
Today, as Jovia Financial Credit Union, we are a thriving financial institution with more than $3 Billion in assets, 19 branches, and a network of over 55,000 ATMs worldwide. Jovia is a new kind of credit union, one focused on combining age-old service and value with the convenience that today’s technologies allow.
