How do I apply for a Visa® Credit Card?
Applying is super easy! You can apply online, by phone, or at any branch.
How do I transfer credit card balances from other institutions to a credit union Visa® Credit Card?
Transferring balances from other credit cards to your lower-rate Visa® Credit Card is a great idea and can save you money in the long run! The easiest way to transfer balances to your Visa® Credit Card is through Online Banking - it's quick and easy!

  • Select Credit Cards from the menu
  • Navigate to Services > Balance Consolidation.
  • To verify your identity, you'll be prompted to enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number and your five digit Zip Code.

On the Balance Consolidation screen, you will need the name of the payee or the name of the institution you would like to transfer balances from, their payment address and the account number you're transferring balances from.

If you'd prefer, you can also transfer your balances over the phone by calling our Visa® Member Service Center at (800) 790-7728 or with our Call Center at (516) 561-0030. If you're near a branch, you can also transfer balances with a member service representative at one of our conveniently located branches throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Can I use my Visa® Credit or Debit card while I am out of the country?

Yes, you can! Our Visa® Credit and Debit cards can be used internationally anywhere Visa® is accepted. Just be sure to submit a travel notification prior to your trip.

How do I set up a travel notification to avoid any issues with my Visa® debit or credit card?

Travel notifications can be placed through our Online Banking platform. Be sure to give us a few days notice so we can set up your account appropriately.

Setup Travel Notification

Travel notifications submitted Monday through Friday before 4:00pm will be processed that day.

To report a travel notification after 4:00pm weekdays, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, please call the following numbers directly:

Travel dates cannot exceed one (1) year. You would need to notify the credit union annually to extend travel dates.

How do I dispute a charge on my account?

We take our member's security very seriously. If you feel there was an unauthorized transaction on your account, we are committed to investigating your claim.

  • Debit or Credit Card (DBT/POS) transaction
    • Many times disputes can be resolved quickly by contacting the merchant directly. If you are unable to resolve the dispute with the merchant, you can file your dispute with us. Please complete the Visa® Charge Dispute Form and submit it electronically. Any additional information such as receipts that may assist in resolving the dispute, should be indicated on the form. Disputes can take up to 60 days to resolve.
  • Unauthorized Withdrawal (ACH/non-debit or credit)
    • If you are on an account with another individual, consult with them first to verify that he/she did not authorize the withdrawal. If the withdrawal was not authorized by any of the account owners, please complete an Unauthorized Withdrawal Form.
    • Was the fraudulent transaction a check? This would be a check that was stolen and signed by someone else other than the signors on the account. In this case, a police report is required along with a Fraudulent Check Form. Documents should be forwarded to the Sharedraft Administrator in Deposit Operations for further processing.
      • Documents must be received with 60 days of the item being presented to the account to receive provisional credit.
      • When will I receive provisional credit? Upon receiving the proper documents by 10:30 am, the account will be credited by the end of that business day.

°APR = Annual Percentage Rate. Stated promotional rate of 1.99% APR is valid for 12 months for purchases and balance transfers from the date of account opening. Use of your card for purchases and balance transfers constitutes your agreement to the stated terms, as well as your account terms as a Visa® cardholder. Balance transfers must post to your card by the end of the promotional period. After the promotional period, the cardholder's APR will default to the cards non-promotional APR ranging from Prime+4.74% to Prime+14.74% APR, 17.99% rate cap. Offers do not apply to Business Cards. Existing Jovia Financial Credit Union balance transfers are subject to the standard account rate. Not all applicants may be approved. Refer to Visa Advantage Terms and Conditions for account details. Transactions Fees for Visa Advantage include 3% of transaction amount for Cash Advances.
